For the salad

  Mixed greens (lettuce, arugula, spinach)

  Cherry tomatoes, halved

  Cucumber, sliced

  Red onion, thinly sliced

Olive oil & balsamic vinegar (or your preferred dressing)

Method

1.  Make the meat sauce

  ◦  Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.

  ◦  Add ground beef, cook until browned.

  ◦  Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.

2.  Prepare the ricotta layer

  ◦  Mix ricotta with egg, a pinch of salt, and a bit of Parmesan.

3.  Assemble the lasagna

  ◦  In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, lasagna sheets, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with sauce and mozzarella. Sprinkle Parmesan on top.

4.  Bake

  ◦  Cover with foil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25 minutes.

  ◦  Uncover and bake another 15 minutes until golden and bubbling. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.

5.  Make garlic bread

  ◦  Mix butter, garlic, parsley, and salt. Spread on sliced bread.

  ◦  Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes or until golden.

6.  Prepare salad

  ◦  Toss greens, tomatoes, cucumber, and onion with dressing just before serving.

7. Plate and serve

◦ Slice the lasagna carefully and transfer to plates using a wide spatula.

◦ Add 1–2 slices of garlic bread beside the lasagna.

◦ Spoon a portion of salad onto the plate or serve in a small bowl.

◦ Garnish with extra Parmesan or fresh basil if desired.

◦ Serve warm and enjoy immediately.

💡 Tips

For deeper flavor, simmer the meat sauce longer or add a splash of red wine.

Use fresh lasagna sheets for quicker assembly and softer texture.

Add a layer of béchamel for extra creaminess if desired.

Garlic bread can be grilled for a crispier finish.

Chill the salad dressing before serving for extra freshness.
